The following link will take you to a story about heat stroke. You can listen to the story while you read it. You can also time yourself as you read it. Read the story three times. After that, a page with questions will appear. Print the page. Answer the questions. Turn the page into your coach. If you scored 80% or higher, you are finished with the activity. If you got less than 80%, you will need to listen to the story again and redo the activity page.

Now that you know what a hypothesis is, click on the following link to find an experiment on body temperature and exercise. After you read about the experiment, write a hypothesis. Then, test it.

Click on the link below to learn how to write a business letter. There are three pages. The first page shows a sample business letter with its parts marked. The second page reviews all the parts of a business letter. (You may print this page off if you would like to have it while you are writing your own business letter. Write your letter on another sheet of paper.) The third page shows the checklist with which your letter will be graded. You need 80% or higher to complete this activity.
You may use your own idea for your business letter, or pick an idea from the following list:
- You bought a product from a company. It does not work the way they said it would. Write to the company.
- Your mother needs someone to stay with her for six weeks as she recovers from an accident. You would like time off to take care of her. Write to your boss.
- When you go to the park, there have been people playing loud music and you don’t feel comfortable letting your children play in the park. Write to the city manager.
