In this station’s lab, you learned about the parts of the heart and how the heart works to circulate blood throughout the body. You also learned about cardiac arrest and administering CPR. Now, let’s use some of the concepts and terms you read about and improve your reading and writing skills.

If you have not completed this section in other stations, CLICK HERE to complete it.
Write at least 10 sentences. Each sentence must use a vocabulary word that you learned from any of the health labs or from the list below in this module. At least 3 of the sentences need to be complex sentences. At least 3 of them need to be compound sentences. If you need to review types of sentences from different stations, ask your coach for help.
Challenge: Write one story or article using your sentences. Or, write two or three paragraphs using sentences that go together. When you are finished, share your work with your coach.
Here is a link to an article from the New York Times. The article is about the AED – which you learned to use in the lab. As you read the article, take notes of facts that either support having AEDs available in many places or reasons why they should not be. After reading the article, what do you think? Write a paper stating the reasons why you support the AED or why you believe it’s better that people call 911. Use facts from the New York Times article to support your opinion.
